Promoting North East pool, with matches, venues and more

Pool Competition both days this weekend in the North East

Its not  that often that we at northeastpool will directly promote another website, however, we feel that with this weekends PMU North East Tour 1 on Saturday, we had to say something.

With a successful previous North East Open, the guys at PMU have once again, drawn some top players tonthe first of their North East Tour events this Saturday 24th March, with a 10.30am start, at Birtley Snooker Club

One of the names to standout is sure to be Clint I’Anson, a seasoned professional of the IPA tour, who is sure to do well. But then, youve also got the likes of Brian “Buzzer” Halcrow who is certainly a force to be reckoned with, and a tough player to beat, even on a bad day. Even playsers such as Geoff Campbell, Kev Rainbow, and the last North East Open winner, Nicky Ellar, the players on show are sure you give good viewing. But lets not forget this is handicapped, which is sure to give anyone a chance of winning, even Kai Dixon 😉

Theres still time to enter this, so if you do wish to enter, there is still time, with the draw being made at 8.15. Entry is £40, with double elimination on offer, and is to start at 10.30am Saturday 24th March. You can pay at Birtley Snooker Club, or head on over to the PoolMatchUp website for more ways to pay.

We at NorthEastPool encourage pool in the north east and must congratulate the guys over at PMU for doing a sterling job so far. So well done to Darrin, Mark and everyone else involved with PMU.

So thats Saturday……whats in store for Sunday. Well this time its Wardles turn with their black ball rules £5 pool knockout. With 25 entrants as of Wednesday, again this should be a cracker, with alot of locals competing against each other, for the prize, with £50 added if 32 entrants should be reached. This is a race to 4 format which gives anybody a chance to win. With players such as Davey Glynn, Peter McGonnell and Aidy Daniels on show, this would b a brilliant opportunity to pit your wits against some of Hebburn and the surrounding areas best. The draw for this was due on Thursday 22nd March, however if this has not been done, there still may be time to compete.

Another well done must go out to David “Razz” Leathead, who continues to bring competitions and more to one of the North Easts top venues.

The competitions about just shows the passion and the hunger the North East have for the game at the moment. Not just the players, but the guys who are arranging competitions also. We’re going to be getting involved in some events soon, so watch this space. We’re still as passionate as ever.
