Promoting North East pool, with matches, venues and more

Clash of the Titans @ Washington Sky Lounge

A super Saturday like no other this weekend, as an array of event’s comes to the North East’s top venue for an unmissable Afternoon/Evening/Morning!

The day will kick off with Football, as the venue will be showing the big London derby as Chelsea take on Tottenham Hotspur in a game that all fans will want to watch. That will warm up your appetite as we lead in to 1pm – the first of the day’s big pool games.

Local lad Gavin “The Rocket” Robinson will take on fellow North East star Craig Lauder, starting at 1pm in the main arena. A very good match for the neutrals, as both players pack plenty potting ability & are no strangers to putting on a show. It’s too close to call, so we’ll just put up our feet and enjoy this one!

Throughout the day, Sky Lounge will be covering all your sporting needs, with Horse Racing, Soccer Saturday & Six Nations being shown on a variety of different televisions in the venue. A great day for the punters on the cards!

Then the next big Premier League game of the day, in-form Leicester City fighting off with European outcasts, Manchester City. In a match that will have a huge impact on the battle for 2nd place, we’ll be making sure we have 1 eye on the TV at 5.30pm to watch this intense clash.

At 6pm, or at least, hopefully depending on how long Robinson v Lauder takes, we have the biggest game of the year, arguably biggest match of the last 10 year. The North East’s best, Marc Farnsworth, take’s on Tom Cousins, an equally highly talented pool star, in a rematch of the IPA 2019 World Championship Final. This game is of course the final in the popular King of the Hill event that has been running since Mid-2019. A cool £10k awaits the winner, with £3k going to the runner up. But for both players, this game is about so much more. Seat’s will be limited for this event as Sky Lounge is expecting a massive turnout for this game, possibly in the region of 200+. Luckily, there isn’t a bad view in the house as the arena is designed for good spectating from all angle’s.

If you are still standing after that, congratulations. If you are still drinking, possibly seek help. But until then, we still have 1 more event to go as Tyson Fury returns to America to take on Deontay Wilder in the rematch all boxing fans have been waiting for. No doubt the atmosphere will be electric and Fury will be getting all the support he needs in this intense, thrilling encounter.

We hope whatever you decide to do this weekend that you pop along for at least 1 of the above events. These are the things that keep the North East buzzing with excitement and keep us coming back for more!
